When Is the Fantasy Football Trade Deadline?
The correct answer is the date shown in your league settings. Public leagues may use platform rules, while private leagues commonly allow the commissioner to choose a different week or remove the deadline entirely.
The NFL trade deadline is a separate event. It controls transactions between NFL teams; it does not automatically close trades between fantasy managers.

2026 public and Public Prize leagues use Saturday, November 28 (Week 12) as the default trade deadline. Private-league commissioners can change the setting.
Where to check: Open League Settings to confirm the Trade End Date and review period for your league. The default date does not override a private league setting.
Yahoo 2026 Important Game DatesESPN Fantasy
ESPN sets a common deadline for public leagues; private League Manager leagues can choose a different date. An accepted trade scheduled to process after the cutoff can still complete normally.
Where to check: Go to League → Settings → Transactions and Keepers → Trade Rules. Accept the offer before the listed cutoff; review votes and League Manager vetoes must also meet ESPN deadline rules.

Trading closes as soon as the final game of the selected NFL week ends. For example, a Week 11 setting keeps trading open through all Week 11 games; Week 11 is an example, not a universal default. Commissioners can also turn the deadline off.
Where to check: Open General Settings → Trade Deadline. Accept before the final game ends; already accepted trades still process after the cutoff, including any review period. Keeper and dynasty trading reopens after the league transitions to the new season.

Some leagues have no deadline, while others close trading for the playoffs and reopen in the offseason.
Where to check: Use the written league rules and ask the commissioner when settings and bylaws disagree.

What Changes After the Deadline?
