Week 17 Waiver Wire: Last-Minute Adds for The Championship
Lamar Jackson doubtful? Quinshon Judkins out? We identify the critical Week 17 replacements including Tyler Shough and Michael Carter to save your title hopes.
Championship Week Emergency Guide
Welcome to Week 17. If you're reading this, you're likely in the Fantasy Championship. Congratulations! But the job isn't done, and the injury bug has bitten hard at the worst possible time.
With Lamar Jackson (Back) listed as doubtful and Quinshon Judkins (Fibula) done for the year, many managers are scrambling. Here are the priority adds to save your season.
Quarterback Streamers
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints (14% Rostered)
If you are a Lamar Jackson manager, Shough is your lifeline. The Saints rookie has quietly posted four consecutive games with 20+ fantasy points. He faces a Tennessee Titans defense that ranks bottom-5 against the pass this season. Shough offers a safe floor with surprising rushing upside.
Josh Johnson, Washington Commanders (2% Rostered)
Desperate times call for desperate measures. With Mariota out and Daniels already shut down, the veteran Johnson threw for 250 yards and 2 TDs against Dallas on Christmas. He faces an Eagles defense in Week 17 that might rest starters if their seed is locked. It's risky, but the volume will be there.
Running Back Replacements
Michael Carter, Arizona Cardinals (35% Rostered)
James Conner is dealing with a nagging ankle issue, and Carter saw 65% of the snaps on Sunday. He is a PPR machine and faces a Falcons defense that allows the 3rd most receptions to RBs. He is a solid RB2 play this week.
Raheim Sanders, Cleveland Browns (18% Rostered)
The tragic injury to Quinshon Judkins leaves a massive void in the Browns backfield. While Jerome Ford is the nominal starter, rookie Raheim Sanders saw goal-line work last week. He is a touchdown-dependent FLEX, but in a week where you need points, his ceiling is high.
Wide Receiver Flyers
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars (8% Rostered)
Christian Kirk is out, and Washington just dropped a 6-145-1 line on the Broncos' elite secondary. With Trevor Lawrence playing at an MVP level, Washington is the WR3 with immense upside you can grab for free.
Mack Hollins, New England Patriots (4% Rostered)
A deep sleeper. Drake Maye loves targeting Hollins in the red zone. He has a touchdown in three of his last four games. If you are an underdog needing a boom week, Hollins is your "Hail Mary" flex.
Advice: Don't save FAAB. It's the last week. Spend it all to block your opponent from getting the QB or RB they need, even if you don't plan to start them. Defense wins championships!
